Keynote Talk: The Power of Representation and The Media-Culture Cycle: a Relationship of Ideas and Changing Times
Mariah Ligas is a graduate of McDaniel College, a liberal arts school in Westminster, Maryland, USA, where she completed both her BA in German and Theatre Arts with a minor in French and her MS to teach. She has taught English, German, and French in the United States, Germany, Palestine, and Romania. Her work in theatre showed her how important representation for minority groups is and how powerful it can be as a tool to shift culture towards peace and acceptance. She hopes to bring a culture of understanding to all of her teachings and encourage people to work together for a more loving future.

Keynote Talk: Celebrating 80 Years of Cultural Relations in Romania
With a Bachelor's Degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Kent (UK) and a Master's Degree in the same field from the University of Edinburgh (UK), Louise Oliver is an English teacher at British Council. She has been teaching English since 2007 and is currently working on her diploma. She has worked in Japan, Russia and Saudi Arabia but has been at the British Council in Iasi for 3 years teaching general English and IELTS preparation courses. She also worked as an EFL teacher at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Saudi Arabia.
